On-going Capital Raising Campaign

Even after initial fundraising goals for the Ex Place turbine were met, investment continued. These funds have been held in an escrow account for future WindShare members in anticipation of the co-op’s next project.

Plans to build a second turbine at Ashbridges Bay Sewage Treatment plant were cancelled after the Toronto Port Authority denied site approval. On behalf of its members, WindShare is moving into the project implementation for the 10MW Lakewind Power Project, which benefits from stronger wind, economies of scale and fewer bureaucratic hurdles. The WindShare capital fundraising campaign for the Lakewind Power Project commences fall 2006.

Tours of the Ex Place Turbine will be available this summer! Click here to learn more.
